The curse of living in the Balkans, in a “powder keg”, leaves a strong imprint on people, and the slices of life cut by the playwright Dejan Dukovski are extremely relevant to the Romanian audience. We know too what aggression without an explanation means, as well as the wish to leave the country that stifles you, absurd acts of revenge spanning generations, the frustration and the taste of failure blamed on the historical circumstances. All this packed into a single show is tantamount to a powder keg in its own right, and the director Cristi Juncu is not afraid to light the wick.
