The show at Metropolis was first of all a chance for me to “play” with some of Chekhov’s prose, and secondly an opportunity to put together an actors’ team made up of debutants (like myself) and well-known actors, some of which were the professors of the former. Six notes, one more desperate than the other, a gloomy, destitute office and a few clerks making a more and more neurotic show of themselves.
