The SF atmosphere continues with even greater emphasis in the production at LUNI Theater. Sorokin’s parable, dramatized by Alex Mihaescu, shows what we may become, without any moralizing intent – one can experience the most exciting “trips” by penetrating the flesh of fiction, plunging into the storyline like one does bungee-jumping. The acting style consists of a sum of verbal tics and robot-like movements that turn the three characters into members of a species different from the human one – or into an expression of its evolution (or is it involution?).
It would be an overstatement to say that the stage director creates a new theatrical language, but both shows, typical of postdramatic theater, contain a series of new forms worth further exploration.
