The Bald Soprano
A tragicomedy from the existential chat. Two persons who love each other, who feel they must be together, but whose place is not next to each other. The play is about a time when hearts grow cold and tough, when people lose their grace and wait for loneliness and fear to set in. It deals with “unhinged” logic, and God who blesses chaos and promulgates the law of probabilities.

The Lesson
It is a thriller about Knowledge, Life, Pain and Virginity. About the futility of wisdom and a short-lived glitter of Sin. The Lesson is a story from everyone’s secret garden. Ionesco invents a child whose (sometimes stupid) innocence must be sacrificed for her to become initiated. In the small study room, the child makes the same mistakes again and again, then undergoes a miraculous transformation (which makes us think of the myth of Jonah and the second birth, this time for civilization, social and moral rules), and the story soon ends. The metaphor of death is not fortuitous: a student who masters knowledge is no longer interesting to the audience. There is more to learn from ritual murder than from the wised-up Student.
