Slices is a sequence of stories in which destinies intersect that gravitate around a man whose death occurs at the beginning of the play. “Slices”, that is, less than chunks, but more than crumbs. One doesn’t have to eat the whole cake to know if it’s good. A slice is exactly what one needs to satisfy one’s appetite without getting satiated. Slices of life, slices of love, slices of crisis, slices of sadness, funny slices, slices. When the chameleon Ofelia Popii breaks loose between all those slices, the show may be rightfully renamed “Ofelii” (O-Slices). My play couldn’t have met a better fate.

A recipient of the UNITER Best Actress in a Leading Role Award in 2010, Ofelia Popii carries out a demonstration of virtuosity, changing “masks” with almost incredible speed and precision. The actress received the same award in 2008 for the role of Mephistopheles in Faust (Radu Stanca National Theater in Sibiu), which also earned her a Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh International Theater Festival in 2009.
