Alexandru Mihaescu

Alexandru Mihaescu entered theater through the actor’s door, as a graduate of the University of Music and Theater in Rostock, Germany. Without giving up this side of his personality, for which he was nominated for the UNITER debut award in 2005, in parallel he also exerts his talent as a stage director and cultural animator. Born in Timisoara in 1980, he is a permanent collaborator of the German State Theater in the city, as well as a curator and organizer of the Tr@nsfusion festival at Kampnagel, Hamburg and an associate founder of Europe Is East. He studied on a fellowship from Robert Bosch Foundation in a cultural management program for Central and Eastern Europe, and worked as a PR specialist for Theater an der Ruhr in Mülheim and Forum Freies Theater Düsseldorf.
Recently he finished shooting for Red Gloves, a film by Radu Gabrea in which he plays the main part, now in post-production. Currently he cooperates on a project entitled The Last Hour of Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu, initiated by IIPM.
