“Very explicit language used deliberately (…) forbidden to minors and to the ultra-bashful.” These are the organizers’ warnings to the audience about Peca Ştefan’s latest show. The text, written in only three days, reveals a very talented author capable of creating live, interesting characters. The actors’ play is very good, with Radu Iacoban and Cătălin Babliuc supporting each other like the two childhood friends, Nils and Hans, Cosmin Nedelcu perfectly impersonating Pops, and, not least, Mădălina Ghiţescu and Raluca Tudorache acting efficiently as Lola and Heidi – the lesbian roommates from the first part and the flippant students from the second.
Peca Ştefan studied at New York University and was in residence at Royal Court. The play, winner of the dramAcum contest in 2002, was published in Romanian, together with two other plays – Andreea/Andreea and I Hate Helen – in Nils’ Fucked-up Day by Teatrul Imposibil in Cluj, in March 2006. It was translated into German and presented in a public reading show at the New Plays from Europe Biennale in Wiesbaden (June 2006).
