Les Ephemeres

The recording of the 2007 show at the Théâtre du Soleil, Les éphémères, directed by Ariane Mnouchkine. The stage directress Ariane Mnouchkine has always shown a particular interest in man’s rapport with history, but in Les éphémères she finds the perfect way to symbolically express this rapport, encapsulating it in precise moments, events of no consequence on a historic scale, yet born at the crossroads of history with the small human destiny. In a warm, understanding tone, she pays respect to anonymous suffering, to the fleetingness of unknown lives spent at the backstage of a century that caused so much pain which can be felt still today.
