Dyonisus in 69
Produced, directed, filmed and edited by Brian de Palma, Robert Fiore and Bruce Rubin, Dionysus in 69 documents a landmark show in the experimental theater of the 60s – the politicized, eroticized version of Euripides’ The Bacchae by Richard Schechner. Merging the recordings of two different shows performed at the famous Performing Garage in New York, the b&w movie is projected on a split screen. It is an introduction to the director’s later feature films.
